What makes the (Anime/Manga) Artists "Tick?"

It's a very common question that has been repeatedly asked by a lot of clients and fellow artists new to the industry ever since I started working online years ago.

I noticed that this question is also more commonly directed towards the Anime/Manga creators. So often in fact that almost a year ago, I started writing and compiling ways how to answer them, and explain in my own understanding why we do what we do.

From this collection of notes and information, I select answers to topics that hopefully satisfies their inquiries. This practice helps keep my answers consistent and conversations brief. Before I knew it, I had already compiled several pages to serve as a "guide" as some of them keep telling me.

Some artists I have worked with have informed me that their success rate on project applications have increased. While some clients have understood why artists refused to work with them again after the project is complete, and has managed to reduce this problem.

I have gathered all these information from experience and observations during my time working online. I noticed that as freelance artists struggle to understand the client's needs, most clients also struggle to understand how to effectively work with the artist as well.

This gap of understanding between artists and clients had plagued the online working process from applying, hiring, and the entire project duration.

I'm not sure how many of you want to enter the world of becoming a Freelancer, some of you might be planning on forming or managing a group of artists as a team. But if you think you need more information about this industry before you jump into it head-on, or just hoping to find something useful, let me know. I'll be more than happy to share them in future posts.

Because I believe there is still a lot of untapped potential in the Philippine artist community. And I salute those who continue to share what they know to those who are eager to learn.
